George Taxiarchopoulos

George Taxiarchopoulos is an award-winning visual artist and certified art expert. Recognized internationally, he received the 8th International Prize for Young Creators (LVMH, Paris 2002) and the 1st Pan-Hellenic Prize for Greek Artists (Spyropoulos Foundation, Athens 2003).

 

Currently, he is the Artistic Director of the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre - Apothikes Papadaki and has held leadership roles in EUNIC Cluster Cyprus and the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.


Over the years, Taxiarchopoulos has built a distinguished career in the arts and cultural management. As the Artistic Director of the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre, he curates and oversees exhibitions that bring contemporary art to a broader audience.

 

During his tenure as President of EUNIC Cluster Cyprus (2022-2023) and Executive Director of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture (2020-2023), he played a key role in fostering international collaborations and promoting cultural diplomacy.

 

His extensive experience as Director of Operations for Art-Thessaloniki & Art-Athina Fairs has solidified his reputation in managing large-scale international art fairs. Additionally, as the Founder & Director of ACEY Europe, he continues to support emerging artists and cultural initiatives.

 

Taxiarchopoulos holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from CCA Kitakyushu, Japan, a Master in Digital Arts (MDA) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Athens School of Fine Arts, Greece. Additionally, he studied Cultural Management at UNICULT2020 and earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from New South Wales University, Australia.

 

His diverse educational background has equipped him with a multidisciplinary approach, merging artistic creativity with cultural strategy and management.

 

He has received multiple prestigious awards, including the 8th International Prize for Young Creators (LVMH, Paris 2002), the 1st Pan-Hellenic Prize (Spyropoulos Foundation, Athens 2003), and scholarships from IKY (Greek State Scholarship, 2004-2007) and CCA Kitakyushu, Japan (2007-2008).
