Rita DAGHER MEKANNA

Rita Dagher Mekanna is a renowned Lebanese visual artist, educator, and cultural advocate with over 25 years of experience. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from ALBA (Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, 1998) and is the founder of L’Atelier des Beaux-Arts – Rita D. Mekanna, a certified academy that has guided over 8,850 students and hosted more than 122 exhibitions. Based between Lebanon, Dubai, and Cyprus, she has created a dynamic space where creativity flourishes across generations.

Her artistic work, described as both poetic and powerful, explores the human condition, nature, and the metaphysical. Using mixed media, sculpture, and modern linear compositions, Rita creates deeply expressive and emotionally resonant pieces. Her art has been exhibited in Lebanon, France, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the U.S., and Cyprus.
Beyond the studio, Rita brought art to a wider audience as host of the Young Artist program on Lebanon’s New TV, a cultural show broadcast globally via satellite, inspiring young creatives across borders.

Alongside her artistic practice, she taught in leading French-speaking institutions, including CNDJ – CSG in Lebanon and LLFP – Dubai, and served as an official French Baccalaureate Fine Arts examiner.

She plays an active cultural role as Head of the Pastoral Women’s Committee in the Maronite Archeparchy of Cyprus and as Personal Delegate for Women’s Affairs, while also supporting the French-speaking community through artistic and intercultural initiatives.
At ART.CY 2025, Rita will present bold, interactive triptychs featuring movable circular elements — an artistic reflection on rhythm, transformation, and geometry.

Rita is a member of the Lebanese Association of Artists-Painters, the Teachers’ Syndicate, and the Lebanese American Foundation – House of Lebanon Art Group in Los Angeles. Her works are held in private collections worldwide and are available for acquisition and curatorial collaboration.
