The PSI Foundation in Limassol has unveiled its latest exhibition, Tekton: Technical Bureau and Modernism in Limassol. This exhibition marks the first comprehensive showcase of the pioneering work of engineer-architect duo Andreas Papadopoulos and Phoebus Polydorides, who significantly influenced Limassol's urban landscape in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The exhibition is open to the public from 7 April to 7 August 2025. Please consult https://psi.art/ for further information.
The exhibition features unpublished archival materials, offering insights into the duo's contributions to Cyprus' cultural and architectural heritage. A notable highlight is a site-specific installation by British artist Matt Collishaw, titled Aftermath, which bridges past and future through a dialogue on cultural transformation incorporating artificial intelligence.
Curated by Dimitri Ozerkov, Chief Curator of PSI Foundation and former director of the Contemporary Art Department at the Hermitage Museum, and Danila Parniouk, acclaimed photographer and Art Director of PSI Foundation, the exhibition is housed in the historic Carob Warehouse. The Foundation aims to preserve this iconic structure and reimagine its future as a cultural hub.
Established in 2024, the non-profit PSI Foundation is dedicated to supporting and cultivating Cyprus's artistic landscape, promoting contemporary art in dialogue with technology. The Foundation has previously supported the Cyprus National Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale.
