Join us for a special evening with the internationally awarded Visual Artist and Artistic Director Yorgos Taxiarchopoulos at the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre - Apothikes Papadaki on Saturday, 13 September at 18:00.


Known for his multidisciplinary vision, his innovative creative practices and his award-winning artistic oeuvres, Yorgos brings decades of international experience to his role as Artistic Director of the Limassol Municipal Arts Centre - Apothikes Papadaki.


Having received prestigious Art prizes and awards including the 8th LVMH International Prize for young artists and the Y&Z Spyropoulos Foundation 1st Prize Award and exhibiting his artworks in famous exhibition venues and well-known museums internationally such as the Reina Sofia Museum, the Pompidou Centre.


He served in several director’s positions at the Art-Athina, Art-Thessaloniki, The Platforms Project and other large scale international art fairs and exhibitions of Greece, having successfully organized the largest art show ever in Greece entitled “The Human Figure in Art” (Technopolis, Gazi area, Athens, Greece) with 1200 participating artists and more than 4000 artworks for the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.


His work bridges visual art, technology, innovation and cultural leadership with social impact deliverables and art market investment best practices.

 

The event offers a unique opportunity to meet the Artist-Director in person and explore his creative journey firsthand. Yorgos, will guide guests through his curatorial philosophy, the evolution of his installations, and his cross-cultural work through the ACEY Europe international network he founded in 2023. His distinctive approach fuses artistic creativity with strategic cultural management, creating impactful narratives through contemporary art.

 

The evening will include an audiovisual presentation, offering insights into Yorgos creative processes as an Artist and Director.


The Limassol Municipal Arts Centre - Apothikes Papadaki is a converted historic warehouse in the heart of Limassol. With its raw industrial aesthetic and cultural legacy, the space is the perfect setting to experience the city’s cultural heritage and contemporary art.
