Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation celebrates European Archaeology Days with family workshops

The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation is set to participate in the European Archaeology Days from 13 June to 15 June, 2025, offering a series of engaging workshops aimed at families. These events are designed to deepen public appreciation for Cyprus’s rich archaeological heritage through interactive and educational experiences.

 


Event Schedule:

 

  • Friday, 13 June (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Making Stories with Clay” – A ceramics workshop led by ceramist Souzana Petri. Participants will explore the history of Cypriot ceramics, from clay preparation to natural dye creation and decoration techniques, using museum exhibits to inspire creativity.

     

  • Saturday, 14 June (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Let Me Introduce Myself: Archaeologist”  An educational program facilitated by archaeologist Aimili Christofi. Families will gain insights into the science of archaeology, learning about its principles and the role of archaeologists in uncovering the past.


  • Sunday, 15 June (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Myths and Stories of Our Cyprus” – A theatrical workshop at the Coinage Museum, conducted by actress-psychologist Despina Chrysanthou and archaeologist Andrea Oratiou. Suitable for children aged 7 and above, this session offers an experiential journey through Cypriot myths, blending storytelling with interactive exploration.


 

All events will be held at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, located at 86-90 Faneromeni Street, Nicosia, with the main entrance on Lykourgou Street. Participation is free, but reservations are required. Interested individuals can book by calling 22128175 or 22128163.
