Artist Spotlight: Marleen Lorek at ART.Cy 2026

Marleen Lorek was among the participating artists at ART.Cy 2026, presenting a distinctive body of work that reflects her intuitive approach to abstract mixed-media practice and her sensitivity to material and form. Her compositions stood out for their layered textures, tactile depth.

Working with acrylic, structural paste, crackle medium, handmade paper, and upcycled denim on canvas, her practice is shaped by an experimental process where each piece evolves organically. Exploring contrasts between density and openness, tension and calm, weight and light, her work invites viewers into a sensory and spatial experience.
