ART.Cy Field Trip to the Kapopoulos Fine Arts Gallery Limassol: 22 November 2025

We are excited to announce that the ART.Cy Field Trip for November will take place on Saturday, 22 November at 11:00 at the Kapopoulos Fine Arts Gallery in Limassol. The event is free of charge and open to all, and we invite art lovers to join us for an inspiring afternoon.

During our visit, we will explore the remarkable works of Victor Ioannides, one of Cyprus’s most important and influential painters.

Victor Ioannides was born in Limassol in 1903 and left a profound mark on the development of modern Cypriot art. After completing his studies at the Higher Faculty of Fine Arts in Athens between 1923 and 1929, he returned to Cyprus, where his career spanned from the British colonial era through independence and into the early 1980s. His art, influenced by Impressionism, portrays a Cyprus of innocent landscapes, peaceful seascapes, and traditional village life.

What set Ioannides apart was not only his artistic vision but also his innovative technique, which involved the use of chemical mixtures that gave his paintings a distinctive porcelain-like finish.

His paintings are held in prestigious collections and museums, and his legacy remains a cornerstone of Cypriot cultural history. Victor Ioannides passed away on 6 June 1984, but his work continues to inspire and educate new generations.
