Nafskia Kyriakidou Ioannou
Nafsika Kyriakidou Ioannou is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in printmaking and a deeply hands-on engagement with materials. Although her professional life began in the banking sector, art was always a central and persistent presence. For many years she worked as a self-taught, amateur artist, steadily cultivating her visual language alongside her career.
After leaving the bank, she devoted herself fully to her artistic practice, developing her craft and establishing herself as a professional artist. Her work focuses primarily on printmaking, incorporating a range of techniques and experimental processes. She works with diverse materials such as textiles and glass, and places particular emphasis on blind embossing, exploring relief, tactility, and the subtle interplay of light and shadow without the use of ink.
Her approach is minimalist yet layered, emphasizing restraint, material sensitivity, and attention to detail. Through quiet compositions and tactile depth, her work invites close observation and reflection. She was an active member for many years of the Friends of Hampis Printmaking Museum association, maintaining a close relationship with the printmaking community. Alongside her studio practice, she is actively involved in volunteering and has participated in exhibitions where her works have been sold in support of charitable causes.
