Marilena Christodoulou (born 1981, Larnaca, Cyprus) is a visual artist whose work explores the

intersections of intimacy, vulnerability, and emotional resonance. Her practice often focuses on the nude and erotic expression, using the human body as both subject and metaphor to navigate themes of desire, grief, and transformation.

Rooted in expressionism, Christodoulou embraces raw emotion over formal structure, capturing the immediacy of feeling through painting, drawing, photography, and mixed media. She studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino (Italy) and the FOCUS School of Photography (Athens),

experiences that shaped her multidisciplinary approach. Early mentorship under renowned Cypriot painter Stelios Votsis further deepened her understanding of painting techniques and conceptual expression.

Her work has been presented in exhibitions and artistic projects in Cyprus and abroad, including London, New York, and Italy, and has presented solo exhibitions in Cyprus and Greece. In 2025, she participated in the curated Triennial of Ayia Napa at the Thalassa Museum and Giorgos Seferis Cultural Center, where she was honored with the Premio Award.

Christodoulou remains committed to exploring human presence, silence, sensuality, and emotional freedom through her ongoing practice. She currently lives and works between Cyprus and Europe.
