Jeny Stathi
Evgenia Stathi (Jeny) was born in Athens and originates from Megara, Attica. From an early age, she developed a deep fascination with art, driven by the act of creation and the power of creative expression. She attended a series of art courses at the School of Art and Culture in Plaka, where she studied under the guidance of the distinguished teacher Antonis Kourtikakis.
A self-taught artist, Stathi works primarily on canvas and is drawn to experimentation with materials. Her practice spans oils, acrylics, marble, glass, metals, tiles, mirrors, and any medium that inspires her to articulate the distinct character of her work.
She also creates her own pigments from stones and rocks, working with watercolor, tempera, ink, and charcoal. Her artistic exploration extends to painting on glass, fabric, and unconventional surfaces, embracing materials that enable her to express ideas freely and intuitively.
Stathi has held three solo exhibitions in Greece, including at the Theognis Cultural Center, the Municipal Theater of Piraeus, and the Piraeus Public Theater. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Cyprus.
